By January 2013, more than 6600 patients have been recruited, which is more than 92% of the target population. The percentage of lost-to-follow-up patients is low, about 6%. Eighteen (18) pilots have completed recruitment, six of them have also finished follow-up and only three short-term interventions (three months or less) continue to recruit patients. It is expected that before July 2013 more than 98% of the target population will have been recruited. All the pilots will have finished follow-up before October 2013. The first available results have already submitted for publication by the COPD pilot of RSD. However, only seven pilots will have analysed the data and will be ready for presenting the results for the Commission, before the final event of the project, and the most of them will not be able to disseminate their results because of the restrictions set by the scientific journals which accept for publication only unpublished data and because the publication procedure demands several weeks to months before one manuscript is finally published. So, actually the most of the scientific publications are expected in 2014.
